Appointments

For non-urgent issues, please follow the guidelines below and choose the right service. An appointment may not be necessary.

This will help us to be more efficient by making an appointment available to you when you need it the most.

You don't always need to see a GP.  It may be more appropriate for another healthcare professional to deal with your health concern. Other Healthcare professionals include physiotherapists or Pharmacists and can lead to a more specialized care and often results in faster treatment and outcomes.

Routine Appointments (1 - 4 Weeks)

Do you have a non-urgent problem and can wait for 1 to 4 weeks to be seen?

If so, here are some ways to book:

Appointments are subject to availability

Urgent (Same Day)

If you have an urgent medical problem and need to be seen on the same day, please phone the practice and speak to a receptionist

Please call us directly on: 01474 543100

If you need to see a Doctor urgently on the day (Urgent meaning it is not regarding regular medication or an ongoing problem) then please call us using the number above.

All requests for same-day appointments will be passed to the duty doctor (telephone triage) They will discuss your medical problem with you over the telephone. If they are unable to resolve your problem over the telephone then they will book you a face-to-face appointment for that day.

If you are worried about your issue and you can contact NHS 111 by calling: 111 or by visiting their website here

Requesting a Home Visit

These are available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability, and requests should be made between 8.30am and 11am to allow sufficient time for the clinicians to travel after the morning clinic.

The clinician may telephone for more information and may request that you attend the surgery if that is deemed more appropriate. Lack of transport is not a reason to request a home visit.

We are not an emergency service and cannot visit in an emergency situation as our clinicians maybe seeing patients and unable to respond in time.

If you feel you have a medical emergency then please call 999

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.

Chaperone Policy

If you would like a chaperone for intimate examinations, this can be arranged on request via reception or speak to one of our clinicians.

Translation

Translators can be organised, please request this when booking your appointment.

Not sure about the instructions/guidance you have been given?

If you are not clear on the instructions/guidance you have been given by the Doctor or other member of staff, please ask for clarification before leaving the surgery.

Evidence of Attendance

Evidence of attendance can be given in the form of an appointment slip which contains no clinical information, but simply indicates that you have attended.
